GAM Jacob shaft couplings WebsiteGAM Jakob Couplings

Torsion Resistant Flexible Couplings - Series KM
Gam/Jakob's metal bellow couplings are simply the best flexible element for high precision applications, especially for those that operate at high speeds and require high torsional rigidity to keep rotational position of shafts synchronized with each other. Metal bellows offer the highest degree of torsional stiffness at a very low moment of inertia while being flexible in axial, lateral and angular direction.  The all-metal design operates with no metal-to-metal contact, requires no lubrication or any other form of maintenance and lasts for a lifetime.

Torsion Resistant Flexible Couplings - Series KP
Couplings of the KP series feature a metal bellow with four corrugations for higher torsional stiffness and shorter overall length.  Tightening of only one screw per hub locks the coupling absolutely free of backlash to the shaft ends, making the coupling especially advantageous for a space constrained or blind assembly installations.

Torque Range 88.5 to 4,867.5 in-lb.
Shaft diameters from 8mm to 75mm.

Elastomer Couplings - Series EKM
Couplings of the EKM series feature an easy to mount radial clamping hubs which have a star-shaped elastomer element with involute toothing and high shore hardness serves as a torque transmitter, and shaft misalignment compensator.

Torque Range 88.5 to 4,867.5 in-lb.

EKM Coupling

Shaft diameters from 8mm to 70mm

Elastomer spiders are available in 98 Shore A and 72 Shore D hardness.

Safety Couplings
Safety couplings prevent expensive damage that often results when a collision occurs in a high performance servo drive system. Downtime for any production machinery is expensive. Collisions between cutting tool and work piece fixtures or end stops produce the most costly repairs in metalworking. Safety couplings cannot prevent collisions, but can remarkably limit destructive inertial forces. Gam/Jakob safety couplings are torque limiters which have been designed specifically to meet the particular needs and objectives of today's high performance servo drive systems.
